Instrument Rating

The estimated cost of our 35 hour all-inclusive FAA Part 141 approved Instrument Rating program, flying one of our late model Cessna 172R Skyhawks, is $7,311. If you wish to train in one of our Classic Cessna 172 Skyhawks, the costs will be lower. The actual time required to complete the course will vary according to a student's ability, dedication, training schedule, and English language skills.

By adding the FAA Instrument Rating to your private or commercial certificate, you join the true professionals of the sky. The Instrument Rating lets you fly on days when the weather is less than perfect, makes you a more precise pilot, and gives you more complete access to the air transportation system.

Instrument flying skills boost your overall skill level. Control of the airplane's altitude and heading becomes more precise, as do tracking abilities. Talent in managing multi-task procedures also receives a thorough honing, thanks to instrument training's heavy emphasis on practicing approach procedures. Another benefit of having the instrument rating is the ability to fully use the airspace system; for example, filing IFR means never having to beg for permission to fly through an airport radar service area or terminal control area that may be along your route of flight.

The primary advantage is flexibility. With an instrument rating, clouds, precipitation, and below-VFR ceilings need not cancel your trip. This alone is reason enough to pursue the rating.

Absolutely - the above cost estimates are based on flying our late model fuel injected Cessna 172R model Skyhawks.
